Dinese Hannewald founded Grace Advisory in 1996 after an illustrious career in investment banking with a single aim: to provide personal and professional advisory services to small and medium-sized firms in Europe, the US and Asia. She brings over 25 years of investment banking experience in Europe, South America and the US to this privately-owned firm. Over the course of her career to date, Dinese Hannewald has worked on over 100 M&A transactions and financing mandates across a wide range of sectors.

Dinese Hannewald, Managing Director

Dinese Hannewald founded Grace Advisory in 1996 after an illustrious career in investment banking with a single aim: to provide personal and professional advisory services to small and medium-sized firms in Europe, the US and Asia. She brings over 25 years of investment banking experience in Europe, South America and the US to her privately-owned firm.

Dinese began her career with Goldman Sachs in New York in 1983. On graduating from business school, she joined Bankers Trust Company as an Associate and in 1989 was promoted to Senior Associate at Deutsche Bank/Morgan Grenfell in their Corporate Finance Group. In 1992, Dinese was appointed a Director with Apax Partners in Munich, before founding Grace Advisory in 1996.

Dinese holds a BSc in Economics/ Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, and an MBA from The Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), Philadelphia, PA.

A native New Yorker, Dinese is fluent in German and proficient in Spanish.

 

Catarina Lopes, Executive Director

Catarina joined the Grace Advisory team in 2002 and is responsible for company valuations and for Grace Advisory's business develoment activities in Portugal and Spain.

Based in Lisbon, Catarina is also Vice President at EastBanc, Inc., a multi-national real estate development company.

Catarina holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, having graduated with Distinction and an MSc in Industrial Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon. She spent two years with The Boston Consulting Group as Associate before joining Apax Partners' Buy-Out Group in London in 1999.

Catarina is Portuguese by birth and speaks fluent German, English, Spanish, Italian and French.
